Phil Paige of Vista, California has been chosen as the Deputy Fire Chief/ Fire Marshal for the City of Redding Fire Department. He begins his duties Monday, July 28.
Paige held the same position in Vista, a city of approximately 96,000 in Northern San Diego County for the past four years. Prior to that he served for 24 years in the Woodinville (Washington) Fire Department rising to the rank of Battalion Chief.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer (EFO) program. He also attended a fellowship program at Harvard University for EFO graduates.
Paige replaces Bruce Becker, who retired July 18 as Redding’s Deputy Fire Chief/ Fire Marshal after eight years with the City.
