What: Women’s Fund invites you to a Community Forum on Teenage Pregnancy: Facts, Faces, and Implications

When: Tuesday (Oct. 26), noon to 1:15 p.m.; please RSVP by Friday (Oct. 22).

Where: Community Room, Redding Library

This event is part of an on-going series of forums presented by the Women’s Fund to discuss major issues facing women and families in our area. Our panelists will be:

Romi Uribe, Shasta County Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Director
Robin Schurig, Epidemiologist, Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, and
Tracy Conry, Cal-SAFE Teacher, Shasta Union High School District.

Teenage pregnancy is a continuing challenge for our area. Join us as our speakers discuss the magnitude of the issue, the scope of local programs and services, and the impact on our community. A local public school teacher will describe the lives of her pregnant and parenting teen students.

Ms. Uribe is a public health specialist in maternal, child, and adolescent health. Ms. Schurig conducts analyses and program evaluations in Shasta County, with a major focus on maternal and child health issues. Ms. Conry is in her fourth year of teaching pregnant and parenting teens in the Shasta Union High School District.

The Women’s Fund addresses persistent challenges facing women and families in the greater Redding area, and seeks solutions through collective philanthropy.

Please join us on October 26th.

A brown bag lunch will be available for $5. Seating capacity is limited to 130. Please RSVP for a seat and a lunch by Friday, October 22 by registering on line by clicking here, emailing womensfund@shastarcf.org, or call 244-1219, extension 250.

This forum will be broadcast on the Redding Community Access Channel 11 on Tuesday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m.
