Art & Mind Exhibition Opens at Shasta Arts Council This May

Exploring neurodiversity, connection, and the full spectrum of human experience

Not all minds work the same and that’s exactly the point.

The Shasta Arts Council invites the community to experience Art & Mind, a new gallery exhibition opening May 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM during First Friday in Downtown Redding. Featuring several works of art created by people with lived experiences of neurodivergence—including autism, ADHD, dementia, and more—the exhibition offers a powerful look into perspectives often underrepresented in traditional gallery spaces.

Through themes of childhood, healing, connection, and belonging, Art & Mind explores the full spectrum of human experience and invites visitors to engage with art that reflects both individual expression and shared humanity.

Presented in collaboration with community partners including NAMI Shasta County, Shasta County Health and Human Services Behavioral Health, Hope Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, Artistic Endeavors, and DLB Ranch Inc., the exhibition reflects a shared commitment to mental health awareness, inclusion, and creative expression.
