Tyler McCain murder trial continued to late summer

On Wednesday, the jury trial for Tyler Scott McCain was continued to August 25, 2026. The defense attorney for Tyler McCain filed a motion to continue because he is currently engaged in another murder trial and would have been unavailable for the previous dates. McCain is scheduled for Trial Readiness on August 19, 2026, at 8:15 am in Department 21 and his jury trial is scheduled to start on August 25, 2026, at 9:00 am.

Tyler McCain is charged with one count of Murder in connection with the disappearance of his wife Nikki Cheng Saelee McCain, including a special allegation that the murder was committed with the intent to prevent testimony. He is also charged with domestic violence charges including Corporal Injury to a Spouse, False Imprisonment, Criminal Threats, and Assault with Force Likely to Cause Great Bodily Injury. As well as additional charges including Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition After a Criminal Protective Order on May 25, 2024, Forgery on May 29, 2024, and various traffic violations on April 1, 2025.
