Bonnes Fêtes from Doug Cushman

Our favorite American in Paris, Doug Cushman, has once again graced us with one of his signature holiday illustrations. Thank you, Doug!

And I thank you, dear readers, advertisers, staff, contributors, and everyone who makes A News Cafe possible, for making 2025 a memorable year. I am so grateful for you all.

As we take a few days off to celebrate with the holidays however we choose, I wish for you a season filled with love, joy, good health and contentment. And for 2026, I hope for a more sane, safe, kind and stable world for us all, starting here in Shasta County, and extending to our nation and beyond.

I look forward to closing the door on 2025. It’s been a doozy! I welcome with open arms 2026, and hopefully a bright and shiny new year filled with promise, unforeseen opportunities, and only pleasant surprises.

Happy holidays! I invite you to post your messages and wishes for 2026 in the comments section.

With love,

Doni
