Shasta College Plant Giveaway for Fire Recovery

For anyone who had land or landscaping that experienced burn-related trauma due to any wildfires in the past few years, the Shasta Master Gardeners are offering free plants to help with replanting. The plant giveaway is on Saturday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shasta College farm behind building 4500 in the nursery area.

Master Gardener Volunteers have started hundreds of plants and trees, including many native plants, as part of the ReGrow Shasta effort. These plants will be given away to help replant burn areas and Master Gardeners will be on-site to answer questions about erosion control, landscaping, and replanting. The Shasta chapter of the California Native Plant Society has also donated plants and will be on-site to answer questions.

For more information, please contact the Master Gardner Office at (530) 242-2219 or

Leimone Waite, Coordinator for Shasta Master Gardener Program and Shasta College Horticulture Instructor, (530) 242-2210.
