NorCal Community Recovery Team (CRT), along with the County of Shasta and
the City of Redding, would like to announce that CalHOME Disaster Recovery Funding
(CalHOME) will soon be available to our community to assist qualified, low-income
homeowners who experienced the loss of their home in the 2018 California Wildfires (DR4382). State of California’s Department of Housing and Community Development funds
CalHOME.
The County of Shasta’s $3,600,000 award in CalHOME funds will assist eligible households to
replace their destroyed homes with “like kind and quality” manufactured homes. The County
anticipates assisting 25-30 homeowners who are eligible to receive loans that do not exceed
$150,000. The assistance will be in the form of a 0%, deferred payment, 30-year loan that may
cover the costs for permits, site work, construction of a permanent foundation, the cost and
installation of a replacement home, and ancillary services required to obtain a Certificate of
Occupancy. Contact Wendy Taylor, Community Development Coordinator, at
wtaylor@co.shasta.ca.us or 530-245-6433, for more information and to place your name on the
waiting list for an application.
