Auditions for The Wolves, the Shasta College Spring play, will be held in the Shasta College Theatre on December 10 and December 11, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. The Wolves is a contemporary coming-of-age play examining identity, politics, and loss as seen through the dizzying whirl of adolescent attitudes, anxieties, and vulnerability of a women’s indoor soccer team. Please meet in the theatre lobby with a prepared one-minute dramatic or contemporary monologue.
Playwright Sarah De-Lappe invites the audience inside the confidential circle of her teenage athletes in The Wolves to paint a picture of female camaraderie in its most authentic form. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of nine, adolescent American girls who ultimately just want to kick, pass, and score some goals.
Directed by Dr. Gregory Thorson, production will begin in the spring of 2020, with performances in March.
Please note: this is an all-female cast of student athletes and some stretching and soccer-related calisthenics will be required.
