With the final graduation of the 2017/2018 workshop series Kids’ Turn celebrated by honoring our 2018 Volunteer of the Year to Miss Soniya Patel.
Miss Patel is a rising junior at Shasta Highs School and has volunteered this past year for the program, working tirelessly to assist the young children’s groups’ leaders. Soniya came to volunteer for Kids’ Turn through a Dignity Health inspired collaboration between Kids’ Turn and Shasta County Chemical People. Despite her busy school schedule, Ms. Patel is an active volunteer in our community and has given a multitude of hours to both Kids’ Turn and Chemical People’s Peer-Mentoring program. Both programs have come to appreciate her dedication, her sincere ease with the youth she assists, and her cheerful demeanor throughout.
