Creek Fire Update

Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the early afternoon, several fires broke out along the Clear Creek Road area of Shasta County beginning at Highway 273 and continuing west to beyond Cloverdale Road. As of 8:00 a.m. June 25, 2018, over 1,300 acres have burned, four structures destroyed, one firefighter injured and damage to infrastructure; guard rails, roads and power poles have been destroyed.

CAL FIRE personnel have determined the fires were suspicious in nature.

Evacuation center is open at West Valley High School (Cafeteria) 3805 Happy Valley Road, Cottonwood, CA.

On June 24, 2018 at 8:00 p.m., Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko, as the Director of Emergency Services, executed a Proclamation declaring a Local Emergency due to the clear and present danger the fires pose to the public. This proclamation will be presented to the Shasta County Board of Supervisors June 26, 2018 for ratification.
