Lake Redding Golf Course, owned by The McConnell Foundation, and operated by California Sporting Company since 2023 jointly decided to close the golf course this winter. The Foundation has independently elected to explore the design and development of a new golf-related amenity.
The golf course has existed for more than 60 years as a favorite community amenity. Generations of golfers have supported the course and have emotional ties to it. California Sporting Company representative Chad New brought passion and energy to the operation during his tenure and made many improvements. He also provided insight into the irrigation system, which has reached the end of its serviceable life, along with the broader need to address infrastructure upgrades, design, parking, and accessibility elements.
“The McConnell Foundation believes that Lake Redding Golf Course’s central and scenic location is worthy of spending time and money to redevelop into a more relevant golfing and recreational experience,” said John Mancasola, Foundation CEO.
