Press Release: Radio Ad Regarding Voting Materials

We appreciate our community’s vigilance and encourage everyone to verify information regarding elections with trusted sources.

Please be advised that there has been a radio ad circulating on KQMS recently, pertaining to voter ballots and voter information. While the ad has since been taken off the airwaves, we feel it’s important to clarify its content.

The ad directed Shasta County residents to report any election mail and voting materials that do not belong to a member of their household to a specific private citizen’s phone number. However, it’s crucial to note that this message is not from nor approved by the Shasta County Registrar of Voters, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors, or the Shasta County Elections Commission.

According to California law, voter registration information is confidential and not considered public information accessible to all members of the public.

If you have any questions or concerns relating to elections or are receiving voting materials that do not belong to you or a member of your household, please follow the instructions printed in the official voter guide or on the ballot, and do not hesitate to contact the Shasta County Registrar of Voters at 530-225-5730 or via email at elections@co.Shasta.ca.us with questions, changes, or updates pertaining to your voter registration.

Please exercise your right and VOTE! Election Day for the 2024 Primary Election is
March 5, 2024.
