Shasta College Spring Classes Start Online January 19

Shasta College courses for the Spring Semester will commence on January 19, with most classes held online. Registration is currently open for new and returning students. Counseling and Enrollment Services are available to help students enroll, register for classes, make or adapt their education plans, and answer financial aid questions. Students may call (530) 242-7650 or email admissions@shastacollege.edu or financialaid@shastacollege.edu for general support questions. One-on-one virtual appointments via Zoom may be available for those students requiring more involved support. High school students may now enjoy the convenience of filling out the Concurrent Enrollment Form electronically, including an all-digital workflow for the required signatures. Students can access the form and learn about the steps needed to enroll in college courses at www.shastacollege.edu/hsplacement.

The Shasta College Bookstore is open to assist students needing textbooks and materials for
the Spring Semester or to return textbooks from the Fall Semester. The Shasta College
Bookstore will be temporarily adjusting the bookstore hours. Starting November 20, the
bookstore will maintain regular hours 7:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and closed on
Fridays. This adjustment in hours will last through the end of December 2020. There will be one
exception on Friday, December 18, when the bookstore will be open for rental check-in.

New student support services exist to help students better pursue their higher education goals
while juggling new demands on their time. The college now offers free WiFi for students in the
North Parking Lot. To book an appointment, students will use www.shastacollege.edu/reservewifi. For students who lack a laptop, the Shasta College
library has Chromebooks available for check out. Students should visit the college website at https://www.shastacollege.edu/library/materials-request/ to request a Chromebook or call
530-690-5842 for additional information. Online tutoring is now available to students in math,
business, science, writing, Canvas, and more. Students can make an appointment and learn
about more of the services at the Tutoring and Learning Center by visiting the webpage
at www.shastacollege.edu/tlc. The Student Health & Wellness Office offers free telehealth
appointments with the College Nurse and the Psychological Counselor. Students can
visit www.shastacollege.edu/student-life/health-wellness/ to complete a Distance Consultation
Form, or they can call the office during regular hours at (530) 242-7580 for more information.

Fall 2020 courses currently being taught in-person with safety protocols and social distancing
such as Allied Health, Fire Academy, Nursing, some Career Education (CE) courses, and
supporting labs will continue in-person for Spring 2021. Courses that are currently online for Fall
Semester 2020 will stay online in Spring 2021. Campuses will continue to restrict access during
the Spring Semester with check-in and self-assessment at the entrance for the main Redding
campus, Health Science, and Tehama campuses and appointments required for certain student
services.
