CURRENT SITUATION
• We had a total of 105 new cases on Sunday and Monday, including 49 men, 55 women and 1 unknown age/gender. The new cases are:
7 children under age 13
7 teenagers
25 people in their 20s
10 people in their 30s
15 people in their 40s
18 people in their 50s
13 people in their 60s
5 people in their 70s
4 people in their 80s
• Are we moving to the purple? Due to Election Day, the state will not release new Blueprint tier information today, and will share that information tomorrow. Right now, our case rates are in the purple and are going up, but Shasta County’s official tier ranking for the coming week is unclear since we’ve been held in the red.
• About the numbers:
– Confirmed cases: Individual Shasta County residents who have had a positive COVID-19 molecular (PCR) test.
– Hospitalized: Total number of COVID-positive people in the hospital, including in the ICU.
– Negative tests: Total number of negative tests. Some people have had more than one test.
– In isolation: People who tested positive for COVID-19, have been confirmed as an unduplicated Shasta County case by public health, are still infectious, and are not in the hospital.
– In quarantine: People who are determined by Public Health to be a close contact of a COVID-positive person(s) and are quarantined to prevent potential spread of disease.
– Active cases: People who have tested positive for COVID-19, are still infectious, and are isolated
(including in the hospital).
– Released from isolation: People who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are no longer infectious
