Current Situation:

• Shasta County has no new positive cases.

• People who have attended protests are encouraged to get tested for COVID-19. If you have symptoms, contact your healthcare provider or call Shasta County Public Health at (530) 225-5591. If you don’t have symptoms, go to https://lhi.care/covidtesting. Appointments are required.

• We frequently receive requests to assist with safely reopening businesses that have been cleared to reopen, with modifications. For example, Shasta County Health Officer Karen Ramstrom worked with organizers of the Shasta Junior Livestock Auction to come up with a safe way for children to sell their animals, using the state’s livestock and agricultural guidance. They successfully created a plan that will allow the activity to move forward at the end of June.

• Since COVID-19 began, people have deferred non-emergency medical care, including vaccinations for children and health screenings. We encourage people to seek out that important preventive healthcare.
