On March 1, 2020, at approximately 0530 hours, a Deputy Coroner Investigator was dispatched to Northbound Interstate 5 at the Shasta Dam Boulevard exit in Shasta Lake City, California regarding a fatal traffic collision. The decedent suffered major injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
The decedent was positively identified as 19 year old Nevaeh Marie Hopman of Redding, California. The decedent’s next-of-kin has been notified and a postmortem examination has been scheduled. The case remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
