On January 2, 2020, at approximately 0845 hours, a Deputy Coroner Investigator was dispatched to a fatal train versus pedestrian collision in Shasta Lake, California. The location of the collision was north of Shasta Dam Boulevard and west of Boca Street. The decedent suffered major injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
The decedent was positively identified as 60 year old Mark Albert Huffman of Shasta Lake, California. The decedent’s next-of-kin has been notified and a postmortem examination has been completed. The cause of death is blunt trauma. The incident remains under investigation by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.
