Shasta College will hold its annual fall showcase and fundraiser, “Harvest Fest”, at The Ross Ranch, 12033 Old Oregon Trail on Saturday, September 28, 2019, starting with tours at 4:00 p.m. “Harvest Fest” proceeds directly support students in the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Horticulture and Heavy Equipment Operations programs.
The event kicks off with tours of the Shasta College Farm starting at 4:00 p.m. and leaving from the Ross Ranch, adjacent to the Shasta College Farm. Tours of the farm will be led by students and feature presentations on what students are learning in the different educational programs. The rest of the festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. under the big tent at Ross Ranch and include delicious, locally grown food, beer & wine, dancing with live music, and a silent and live auction. On the menu again this year is whole roasted pigs and organic produce raised by Shasta College.
The proceeds from this event directly benefits students by funding lab projects, logging sports, livestock breeding, farm improvements and equipment purchases, which support student access to quality educational experiences.
Tickets can be purchased in advance ($40 per person) or at the door ($45 per person). Ticket prices are for all ages and can be purchased from Shasta College Agriculture, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Heavy Equipment faculty and students or online from Eventbrite at https://2019_harvest_fest.eventbrite.com.
