CURRENT SITUATION
Situation Summary: Smoke has cleared over the fire area today, increasing the possibility of spot fires. Fire growth is primarily fueled by dry vegetation and steep terrain. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the fire area through 11:00 P.M. Saturday for hot, dry conditions and gusty winds. Firefighters continue to build
and improve containments lines, and perform burning operations in more active portions of the fire, while mop-up and patrol efforts continue throuought the less active areas.

CARR FIRE REPOPULATION
WHAT: Repopulation of additional areas in the Community of Lewiston.
WHEN: August 10, 2018 at 5:00 P.M.
WHERE: Evacuations orders have been lifted and residents may return home in the
following areas.
Residents may return home in the Lewiston Community North of SR-299 to Kinny Camp
Road at Keno Camp Road, West of County Line Road to Trinity Dam Blvd and all areas
and supur roads within. SR-299 will be open to residents only from Sandhouse to
Buckhorn Summit.

FAMILY OF FALLEN CAL FIRE EMPLOYEE REQUESTS PRIVACY
In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 9, 2018, Andrew Brake, a 40-year-old Heavy Equipment Mechanic for CAL FIRE, was tragically killed in an auto accident on Highway 99 while assigned to the Carr Fire outside of Redding, CA.
The Brake family is being supported by members of CAL FIRE and L2881 and are
asking for privacy as they work through this tragic loss. Information will be forthcoming regarding when the family would like to share memories of Andrew and how he was loved and admired by his family and friends. Please keep the family members of Andrew Brake in your thoughts.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the fire area through 11:00 P.M. Saturday for hot, dry conditions and gusty winds. Firefighters continue to build and improve containments lines in more active portions of the fire, while mop-up and patrol efforts continue throughout the less active areas.
