Dicker’s department store is no more, the old Redding police station has new owners with big plans, new businesses are opening and new ideas are popping up everywhere. It all means it’s high time for the annual State of Downtown.
Presented by Viva Downtown Redding, the free event begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday at The Atrium, 1670 Market St. on the Market Street Promenade at the northwest corner of Placer and Market streets.
A 30-minute period for socializing will be followed by a formal program from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided by Major 7th. Refreshments and a hosted beer and wine bar (donations will be gladly accepted) will be available.
The program includes presentations and recognition of people making changes. People are making a more vibrant downtown right here in Redding. Positive activity in downtown Redding brings economic growth, more involved citizens and groups.
Viva Downtown Redding, A National Main Street Organization, is dedicated to enhancing the social, cultural and economic development of downtown Redding and cordially invites residents to come and share the great things happening downtown.
