We have a beautiful State flower. Unfortunately, they seem to be disappearing. There was a young man in the 1970s in Santa Clara Valley throwing out the CA Poppy seeds to make sure that people, who thoughtless picked the flower rather than let them grow to seed, would be a still be around generations later.
