California State Parks and the Ide Adobe Interpretive Association will host the 40th Annual Pioneer Christmas Party at William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park on Saturday, December 16 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Visitors will relive many Christmas traditions of the North Valley’s early pioneers.
Volunteers wearing 1850s clothing will be on hand to greet visitors and invite them to participate in some of the early pioneer Christmas traditions. Visitors can make handmade gifts including candles, gingerbread cookies, and enjoy many other pioneer pastimes. Warm wassail, coffee and treats will be served. Children will clamor to help break the traditional Christmas Bag!
Musical entertainment will be provided by Loosely Strung and other local players.
This Pioneer Christmas Party is fun for the whole family. Admission is $2 for children 5 to 17 years old, $3 for adults, and children under 5 are free.
