Excitement Builds for North State Giving Tuesday on November 28th

Don’t miss an opportunity for one-stop giving at www.northstategives.org on Giving Tuesday, this year on November 28th. This worldwide recognized day of giving back follows two days of holiday ‘deals’ at Thanksgiving time – Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Shasta Regional Community Foundation is leading North State Giving Tuesday, a 14-hour online giving portal event atwww.northstategives.org,  where you can donate a minimum of $10 to over 120 local nonprofits that have registered and are eligible for a share of over $85,000 in boosts from your donations. Additionally, hourly random prize drawings sponsored by local businesses will occur on the day of the event. A 30 second video depicting how the interface works can be seen on the website homepage atwww.northstategives.org.

The Community Foundation upgraded the online giving platform this year with special support from Redding Bank of Commerce and Pacific Power Foundation. It offers many new features for both donors and participating organizations. New this year, donations may be scheduled IN ADVANCE, beginning November 14th. Like bill-pay banking, a donor can register and choose any organizations to support and the transaction will process on November 28th.  Gifts from IRA rollovers and payment options that include e-check, credit or debit card are all offered. “It’s a secure online giving opportunity where a donation of $10 or more to the nonprofit(s) you select will help them garner extra cash to do the great work they do in our Shasta and Siskiyou County communities,” says Program Officer Amanda Hutchings of the Community Foundation. “An added benefit is the convenience of one-stop shopping for your end-of-year giving!” Hutchings added.

Visit the website at www.northstategives.org in advance to explore the participating nonprofits and details surrounding the event which will be “live” from 6 AM – 8 PM on November 28th.  Follow the excitement of the day on social media via the Community Foundation’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sites and #NorthStateGivingTuesday.
