Update October 6:
On Wednesday, October 4th, 2017, at 0805 hours, Deputy Coroner Investigators responded to the report of a deceased person who was located near the intersection of Riverside Drive and North Court Street in the City of Redding. The decedent has been positively identified as 50 year old Christopher Donald Miller of Redding, California. The decedent’s next-of-kin has been notified and a postmortem autopsy was completed this week. Further information will available pending follow up investigation and toxicology results.
On October 4, 2017, at 7:43 a.m., a citizen reported finding a deceased person in the area of Riverside Drive and Court Street. Officers of the Redding Police Department responded to the area and located a deceased male in the canyon north of Riverside Drive.
The Redding Police Department Investigations Division has assumed the investigation. It is being treated as a suspicious death. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
