Bicycle Theft Results in Stabbing

On September 12, 2017, at about 9:13 P.M, Officers were dispatched to 3980 Virgo Street, regarding a male subject at the location with stab wounds. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the victim, George Lee Casey (age 36) who was suffering from two non-life threatening stab wounds.

The victim told Officers that he heard noises coming from his side yard and went to investigate. He observed a Hispanic male adult (age 40-45) riding away on his $4500 mountain bicycle. The victim attempted to stop the theft and became involved in a physical altercation with the suspect. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed twice with an unknown object. The suspect, described as being approximately 5’10, medium build, wearing dark clothing rode away with the victim’s bicycle. The victim described the bicycle as a hunter green mountain bicycle that has been spray painted blue. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Redding Police Department.
