Dr. Phuc-Son Dong is a doctor of osteopathic medicine who became a physician after he discovered the strong bond that exists between a patient and his or her doctor. He focuses on preventing disease and develops close relationships with his patients so they are comfortable asking him anything. He takes care of patients of all ages, and believes that when it comes to medicines, less can be more. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Touro University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. His internship in internal medicine and emergency medicine, and his residency in family medicine, were completed at St. John Medical Center in Ohio. At Dignity Health Medical Group North State, he helps patients live healthier, happier lives.
Dr. Dong says: “I’m interested in all aspects of medicine, and especially preventive medicine. I think it’s because of my training in osteopathy, which focuses on the whole person, not just the problem, in order to better treat the patient’s health concern. This philosophy applies to the full spectrum – from infants to geriatric patients. I want to have a positive effect on people.”
