Meghan Leininger, DO, a Family Practice Doctor and Obstetrician, Gives Real Life Advice to Patients at Dignity Health Medical Group North State

G96WQ_w120h160_v8411Meghan Leininger was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a child, she pretended to deliver babies. Now, as a mother herself, she brings valuable perspective to Family Practice because she is also an OB. Dr. Leininger received her doctor of osteopathy degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency at Mercy Medical Center Redding. Her fellowship, in Family Medicine and Obstetrics, was completed at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She brings her unique combination of skills to families in the North State.

Dr. Leininger says: “When I was a child, I was always drawn to pregnant women, wanting to help. And I wanted to help the babies, too. A mentor showed me I could do both – deliver babies and treat kids and families. Being able to take care of the whole family, from pregnancy to delivery and then beyond means so much to me. Now that I’m a mother, I feel I can give more accurate, and real life advice, because I’ve been pregnant and now have a family that needs care. That’s understanding and what humankindness means to me.”
