What beautiful weather! What beautiful surroundings. Cool, sunny weather with all the snow capped mountains on three sides. Doesn’t get any better ‘n’ at!!

We are packing up after spending a beautiful week at a pet-friendly rental home here in Trinidad with our two dachshunds, and looking forward to the spectacular drive home via Highway 36.

Isn’t it great to live in Northern California?!

Collecting rain water in 5 gal. buckets to help water my potted plants, just in case the sun returns with a blast like it can only do in the 2nd hottest city in the USA.

Oh, and I’m still having “Lunch With LaMalfa” every Thursday, 11:30-12noon or 1p-3pm, 2885 Churn Creek Rd. SteC, 223.5898, and bringing a hand written/typed letter of Concern du Jour.

Does anyone know where I can find Halloumi Cheese in Redding?  It is called for in many recipes as a cheese that can be grilled.  It gets tasty charred marks and the inside is a creamy delight, and lovely served in salads.

    Thank you.

Richard,  do you have a link to that beautiful rental home which accepts our beloved fur kids?  Thank you!

      Hi, Karen,

Here is a link to the property management company from whom we rented the “Trinidad Village Retreat”  which you can find as you scroll down their Trinidad listings.  We have stayed at their “Harbor Heights” and “Buoy Bell”  condos previously but neither allows pets.

I haven’t written my review yet, but will give the place high marks for a pet-friendly rental. Certainly not opulent, but quite clean, quiet, comfortable, and only a block from the harbor overlook. Emily and Reggie both loved it.

Full disclosure: We have no association with, nor financial interest in, this rental company. We just like to travel and when possible include our beloved “kids.”

One more recommendation: Do have dinner at Larrupin’ Café.  Dogs will be fine in crate with a blanket.
