Beginning on Thursday, January 26, and running through Saturday, February 4, Shasta College’s Opera Workshop will present Johann Strauss’s comic opera, Die Fledermaus, or, in the Workshop’s English language adaptation, The Revenge of the Bat. Performances begin at 7:00 pm on January 26 thru 28, and on February 3rd and 4th. There will be a matinee performance on January 29th beginning at 3:00. Directors Robert and Elizabeth Waterbury have put together a cast of talented singing actors who will provide audiences with an evening of lively musical entertainment. Fledermaus is a grand party of an opera, full of lovely melody and hilarious comedy. The visual effects will be beautiful, provided by Shasta College’s set designer and painter, David Fraser, and costume designer, Hilary Fahey.
