Genocide in Sudan:  Why Hope, Why Act?

On Tuesday and Wednesday, October 11 and 12, as a part of a series of events, “Genocide in Sudan: Why Hope, Why Act?”, Camp Darfur will be returning to Redding. The display of tents, which tells an abbreviated story of genocide in Armenia, the Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, and Darfur, can be viewed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Shasta College Campus Quad.

Other events at Shasta College on Tuesday, October 11, sponsored by Genocide No More—Save Darfur, the Shasta College Foundation, the Office of Access and Equity, and the McConnell Foundation, include an African Dinner ($5.00 fee) at 5:00 PM in the Cafeteria and a panel presentation, “Genocide in Sudan, Why Hope, Why Act?” at 6:00 PM on the Shasta College Student Stage inside the Cafeteria. Panelists will include international experts Omer Ismail, Esther Sprague, Gabriel Stauring, and Katie Jay Scott.

On Wednesday, October 12 events at the First United Methodist Church, 1825 East Sts. include a Pot Luck Dinner at 6:00 PM and a panel presentation, “iACT Programs for Hope and Action,” with Gabriel Stauring and Katie Jay Scott. (Bring a main dish, salad, or dessert for the Pot Luck—drinks will be provided.)
