The below depicted suspect from the Coca Cola burglary of May 6th, 2016 has been identified as Eric Lee Cooley, age 49, of Redding.
Several law enforcement officers that have recently contacted Cooley identified him after the news release yesterday. Cooley was found to be in custody on unrelated theft charges.
Redding Police Investigators interviewed him at the Shasta County Jail yesterday afternoon, at which time he admitted that he was the suspect depicted in the surveillance photograph below. Cooley said he specializes in stealing from coin-operated machines, and his motivation for stealing stems from a desire to supply his addiction to methamphetamine.
The investigation of this incident continues. The second suspect has not yet been identified.

The Redding Police Department is asking for assistance with the identification of two suspects who broke into a fenced yard, a work truck and a soda machine at the Coca Cola Distribution Center (1580 Beltline Road) during the nighttime hours of May 6, 2016.

Several cases of soda were carried away from the scene.
