The Shasta College main campus will host an Earth Day celebration on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2015. The event will be centered in the main campus quad from 10AM to 2PM.

There will be more than 25 agencies and organizations in the Campus Quad who manage and care for our region’s environmental quality and/oreducate toward the utilization of sustainable practices. Various Shasta College departments that assist the college with its commitment to sustainability will also be present. The event is designed to be academic in character, so that those who attend the event can discover more about the environment of the north-state and our regional connections. Shasta College’s Earth Day event is NOT a “commercial” setting and no booth present is there to sell any material goods.

There will be prizes, live music, readings, and games as we look to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through an atmosphere of celebration. An “Earth Day Expedition Game” will be available which can be used to demonstrate attendance and participation. The presenters the students will interact with are responsible for managing and caring for our North State environment and the Expedition Game requires active listening and interactions to be able to complete the Game Sheet. There will be music, games, and a general atmosphere of celebration all in the context of “Coping with Climate Change- planning for and managing our changing North State environment”.

This is a free event.
