Larry Pohlschneider, the Tehama County resident who was wrongly imprisoned for nearly 15 years, will be one of the featured speakers at the annual meeting of the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity County Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California (ACLU-NC).
This free event is open to the public and will be held on Saturday, January 23 at the Pilgrim Church, 2850 Foothill Blvd., in Redding. It begins at 1 p.m.
Also speaking that day will be Maitreya Badami of the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP), the organization that helped to secure Pohlschneider’s release last October. He will be eligible for about $750,000 in compensation because of the time he spent in prison.
For additional details about the Jan. 23 program, contact Lowell Barnes at 357-3123.
