The Shasta College main campus lockdown has been lifted. The lockdown was initiated for the safety of individuals on campus in connection with a shooting in Bella Vista that occurred this morning. A suspect entered the woods northeast of the main campus and local law enforcement officials searched the area without incident. It has been determined that the area is now safe, and campus has reopened.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning the Shasta College main campus was notified that a suspect in connection with a shooting in Bella Vista has entered the woods north of campus. Local law enforcement officials are currently searching the area for a while male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, wearing black clothing. To ensure the safety of individuals on campus, it is currently on lockdown. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
