On Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Redding Police Department, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will host a medication disposal event at the Mt. Shasta Mall in the Sears’s parking lot. Pills should be removed from their containers and placed in a zip-close type bag. Syringes and liquids will not be accepted. This event is for household disposal and is not intended for disposal from businesses such as pharmacies, medical offices and group homes.
