Mercy Hospice is now taking applications for its spring volunteer training class. With a 37-year history, Mercy Hospice offers comprehensive care for area patients and families facing terminal illness and loss, enabling them to live each day comfortably, with quality and dignity.
Volunteers have opportunities to provide caregiver relief in the home, emotional and spiritual support for patients and family members, practical assistance (light housekeeping, errands), bereavement support and office assistance, as well as a variety of other activities.
Volunteers must attend the training course, which begins April 9 and runs for six consecutive Thursdays from 8:15 to 11:45 am.
