Redding Man Arrested for Vehicle Burglary, Other Crimes

On January 1, 2013, at approximately 9:42 PM, Redding Police Officer Doug Moore was patrolling the 800 block of Browning Street. He noticed a suspicious subject loitering near a vehicle in the parking lot of Famous Dave’s Barbeque. Due to this suspicious activity, coupled with the recent high number of theft related crimes in the city, Officer Moore detained the subject who was identified as Raymond  Anthony Parra, 27 years, of Redding.

During the investigation, Parra was found to be in possession of property not belonging to him. This property was traced to the owner of the vehicle Parra had been loitering near. The owner confirmed the vehicle had been parked there earlier and locked. One of the widows had been forced down allowing access to the inside of the vehicle.

Parra was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for vehicle burglary, receiving/ possession of stolen property, and prowling.

The Redding Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind citizens to lock vehicles and avoid leaving any valuables in those vehicles.

From Redding Police Department press release.
