Person At Risk – 75-Year-Old Missing Man – Found

Update from Redding Police Department press release, Tuesday a.m.:

On Monday, January 16, 2012, at approximately 10:52 PM, Alfonso Franco, 75 years, of
Redding, was located in the area of Churn Creek Road and Harpole Road in Redding. He was
reported missing earlier in the day from an adult care facility.

Franco was located by Mike Lake, 37 years, of Anderson. Mr. Lake took the initiative to
conduct a search for Franco after learning of his missing person status through the media. Mr.
Lake’s assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated by the Redding Police Department.

On Monday January 16, 2012 at approximately 7:13 p.m., Shascom Dispatch received a report of a missing elderly male from 2160 Victor Avenue.

Officers from the Redding Police Department contacted a worker at the adult group home and discovered that the victim was last seen at the residence at approximately 2 p.m. on today’s date.

The victim is Alfonzo Ibarra Franco, a 75 year old white male adult. He is described as 5’- 3” tall, weighs 140 pounds and has short grey hair. He was last seen wearing a beige plaid jacket and blue jeans.

Officers have been conducting an extensive search for the victim since the original time of the report, but the victim has not been located yet.

The victim is considered at risk due to a medical condition and the extreme cold temperatures forecast for tonight.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the victim is urged to contact the Redding Police Department at 225-4200.
