6/1/11 Man Arrested in Burney Area Child-Molest Case

DATE/TIME: 06-01-2011 @ 1417 hours.

CRIME/INCIDENT: 288(a) PC – Lewd and Lascivious Acts with Child Under 14

288.7(b) PC – Oral Copulation: Victim Under 10 Years

LOCATION: Burney/Intermountain Area

VICTIM(S): Victim-1 – Confidential

Victim-2 – Confidential

SUSPECTS(S): Ray, Christopher Robin, D.O.B. 12-17-1962 (Age 48)

SYNOPSIS: On 06-01-2011, Wednesday, at approximately 1100 hours (11:00 a.m.), detectives and deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest and search warrant at Christopher Robin Ray’s residence. Ray was arrested without incident and transported to the Shasta County Jail, where he was booked on the warrant. Ray is currently being held on one million dollars bail. The case is still under investigation.

    I am not making excuses for what he has done, but he may need more help then he does jail time. He was molested as a child from almost birth until he was around five years of age. An evil man sexually for years back when talking about this type of thing was frowned upon or even avoided at all costs. Again not making excuses for his behavior but giving insight to why or what may have caused him to commit such an act.
