Dunsmuir’s annual city wide yard sale will occur Memorial Day Weekend as part of the Dogwood Daze celebration planned for May 28. A full day of events celebrates the more than 52 dogwood trees on Sacramento and Dunsmuir Avenues, Hedge Creek Falls and in the Children’s Park.
Residents are urged to call the Chamber and get their yard sale address listed on the map of events. The many other activities will bring visitors from all around.
Events include a Pie Social, Rotary Pancake Breakfast, Doggie Parade, Flower and Art Show, Home Garden Tours, Botanical Garden Tour, plant sales, the Growers’ Market, and street dancing and dinner at the Dunsmuir Brewery. Strolling musician Gerry Smida will delight people downtown with his music. Storefront art will appear in many downtown stores and the art studios of Fred Gordon, Finley Fryer and Jayne Bruck-Fryer will be open to visitors. The Box Car Gallery will host a reception for local artist Dick Moon.
People may list their yard sale for only $10 by calling the Dunsmuir Chamber office at 235-2177. The map will feature all events, including the location of many dogwood trees which should be in full bloom.
Dunsmir Dogwood Daze is sponsored by the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Power, and the City of Dunsmuir.
