Youth Entrepreneurs to Hurl Their Best Pitches

What: Shasta Youth Entrepreneurship Competition at Shasta College

When: Thursday (April 7), 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Shasta College Theatre

The public is invited to cheer on six talented local young people as they compete in the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) Competition, on April 7, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in the Shasta College Theatre. The six local Shasta County youths are competing for a chance to win up to $2,500. This event is sponsored by the Business and Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) and hosted by Shasta College and U.S. Bank. The six finalists will be competing for $2,500 in prize money. Those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring their cell phones to text vote for their favorite contestants. Those who text their votes are eligible to win a cash prize.

One of the keynote speakers at the Competition is Arel Moodie, “America’s Top Young Speaker” and an award-winning entrepreneur. Arel will amaze the audience with his fast-paced stories and humor. Attendees will also hear advice on starting and growing a business in Shasta County from a panel of successful local entrepreneurs. There is no cost to attend this event.
