Caltrans has started work on a project in central Redding to improve traffic operations and weaving movements for the southbound I-5 and State Route 44 interchange by widening the southbound I-5 lanes toward the median.
Tullis Inc. of Redding began work on Monday and will continue the project until anticipated completion in the Fall of 2011. Work hours will be at night between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday through Friday. The work will require lanes closure on the southbound side of I-5 with occasional lane closures in both directions and lane closures on SR 44, both eastbound and westbound.
