Starting early Monday morning, January 17, Caltrans will begin the process of reducing traffic on I-5 to one lane for each direction and shifting it to one side of the bridge. The new configuration should be in place by noon, then construction crews will begin work on replacing the expansion joints. When traveling through the work zone, motorists will be required to reduce their speed to 25 mph and to follow pilot car escort. Work is expected to be completed within 2 to 3 weeks. Motorists should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes. Trucks wider than 10-ft and/or trucks over 75 ft long are prohibited from passing through the work zone.
