Seven award-winning singer-songwriters perform a concert celebrating the remarkable life and musical legacy of Chuck McCabe.
Singer-songwriter McCabe was a true friend of Redding, as evidenced by his hit song, “I’d Rather be in Redding.” Chuck died in July of this year leaving behind many friends, fans and a treasure trove of award-winning songs and performances. He was a beloved performer in venues throughout the Bay Area, in Nashville and on the East Coast, and had played internationally with the USO.
This remarkable concert will feature individual and group performances by Chuck’s fellow Bay Area singer-songwriters with the Blah Blah Woof Woof music cooperative: Steve Kritzer, Jay Howlett and Rolfe Wyer. Joining them will be Dennis McGregor, Willie Carmichael, Michael Gaither and Redding’s Jim Dyar.
A privately produced DVD of Chuck singing some of his songs not otherwise recorded will be available along with a silent auction, CDs and refreshments.
All musicians, production staff and friends are volunteering and the Shasta County Arts Council is contributing its performance hall.
This will be an unforgettable evening honoring an unforgettable person. Friends, fans and fellow musicians will gather to enjoy his music and raise some funds.
Doors open at 6:30, Concert at 7.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the door or in advance at Bernie’s Guitar at 3086 Bechelli Lane (530-223-2040), or at People of Progress at 1242 Center Street in downtown Redding (530-243-3811).
