Get outta town this weekend for “Nightmare.” It’s “a haunted house of epic proportions,” according to the folks at Tehama County’s Barestage Theater. Here’s a bit about “Nightmare from Tehama Pulse, Tehama County’s events website:
Each day an estimated 200 more Tehama County residents fall victim to the mysterious H5N6 virus, the seemingly incurable disease which causes its victims to crave the consumption of human flesh. While the nation’s scientists struggle to find a solution to the contagion, city and county authorities will open a shelter in Red Bluff on October 24 for any who may have been infected.
That’s the premise behind “NIGHTMARE!,” The BareStage Theatre’s highly-anticipated Halloween event, billed as “A Haunted House of Epidemic Proportions,” planned for nightly tours from 6 to 9 p.m., October 26 through the 31st.
Northstaters should remember the theatre’s last haunted house, held in the basement of Main Street’s Heartfelt Design Galleries in 2008, which was an enormous success. But event organizers say this year’s happening will be even bigger and better — and scarier — than before.”This is going to be a huge event, and we’re looking to work with as many people as we possibly can,” said BareStage board member Andy Dena, who noted that people of all ages are welcome to get involved.
“The haunted house two years ago was really something special,” says Barestage Theater Board member Andy Dena. “But this one is brimming with awesome new tricks — and treats– that no one will be expecting. It will be very, very scary! You’ll come for the fun,” he joked, “but you’ll stay for the outbreak!”
In case you’re hungry after the zombie attack, hot dogs will be for sale courtesy of the Dogfather, as well as popcorn and sodas.
