That Rat Bastard! Storyteller Wins Best of Show

Attendees of the artist reception for the STORYTELLING show Friday night voted Nikolas Allen’s “Rat Bastard,” pictured above, as the “Best of Show.”

Nikolas, a local poet/artist/designer, says, “This piece tells a story of courage. We’ve all been in situations that weren’t good for us, and it takes great courage to change them. It’s both frightening and exciting, but always for the best. Women seem to respond strongly to this piece, and I love to witness their reactions. I feel honored that the audience voted for this piece as their favorite.”

Congratulations, Nikolas!

View Nikolas’ piece and all of the other works in the show at the Siskiyou Arts Council Gallery & Cultural Center, 418 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm, or Saturday, 11am to 5pm. STORYTELLING ends August 21, 2010.
