What: United States Air Force Band’s Golden West Winds Woodwind Quintet to perform at the Redding Library

The Golden West Winds Woodwind Quintet will perform at the Redding Library on Tuesday, May 18th at 6 p.m. Led by Master Sgt. Lezlee Masson, The Golden West Winds is the resident woodwind quintet of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB. This group of highly trained musicians has delighted numerous concert audiences throughout the western United States. The versatile Golden West Winds perform a variety of musical genres, from the baroque masters to the ragtime of Scott Joplin — ideal for all audiences. The distinctive atmosphere of these concerts bonds musicians and audience in an intimate musical experience.

The Golden West Winds play in civilian communities throughout the western states, and support events at 10 Air Force Bases, 5 Air Force Reserve Wings and 5 recruiting squadrons. In addition, they offer master classes, lectures and have appeared on local radio music series.

The Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis AFB, California, is the only remaining active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies. The Golden West Winds are featured on the recordings “Wood ‘n Brass” and “Bayside Bravura.” This concert will be held in the Community Room and is free and open to the public.
