What: History of Gospel Music with Dr. Dee

The Shasta College Concert Choir will be joined by renowned gospel artist Dr. Diane White-Clayton (“Dr. Dee”) in a program that celebrates the history of American gospel music on April 9, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Shasta College Theatre.
This special music event will feature Dr. Dee singing her own material from her latest recorded CD, and performances by the Shasta College Concert Choir singing spirituals, historic music, and contemporary gospel. This will be an exciting journey through the historic development of American gospel music, from spirituals to contemporary. The concert will include audience participation. Assisting Dr. Dee will be area musicians, including guitarist Bernie Baker, pianist Cleveland Boney, drummer Dan Kinkel, and Bruce Calin on bass.
