After your Thanksgiving feast, take a drive and enjoy some of these North State holiday events:

Cottonwood

Old Fashioned Days. Nov 28. Front St. in Cottonwood. Participants are invited to dress in 1800s-era clothing to attend the holiday boutique and antique street fair. Features a visit by Santa Claus at 2 p.m., raffle at 3 p.m., and Christmas tree lighting and caroling at 5 p.m. For information, call 347-6800.

McCloud

The 3rd Annual Dog & Pony Show. Nov. 28. All animals welcome. Stick pony contest, bike brigade, C.D.F. with Sparke the Dog, forestry with Smokey the Bear, Santa, hot apple cider and awards for all the kids. Hosted by the McCloud Chamber. For information and entry forms, call Brown Dog Gallery at

Red Bluff

Red Bluff Christmas Parade. Nov. 28. Downtown Red Bluff. 5:30 p.m. The parade route is east on Walnut from Madison to Main Street, south on Main to Oak Street and west on Oak to the County Courthouse building. Santa Claus will be on hand after the parade at the State Theatre, talking to youngsters and posing for pictures.

Yreka

Annual Yreka Holiday Parade. Nov. 28. Downtown Yreka. The largest daytime holiday parade in Northern California and Southern Oregon. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lewiston

19th Annual Lewiston Bridge Lighting. Nov. 28. Events at Old Lewiston Bridge in Lewiston include lighting, fireworks, food, and a visit from Santa. Participants are also invited to visit the Old Lewiston Schoolhouse at 2 p.m. for treats, eggnog, pictures with Santa and free toys for children. Call 778-0111 for information.

Eureka

Craftsman Days. Nov. 27 and 28. Living history and artisan fair at the Blue Ox Millworks Historic Park in Eureka. Come spend a weekend learning about the traditional arts of blacksmithing, woodworking, ceramics and much more. Demonstrations in the traditional arts including : blacksmithing, woodworking and spinning. Live music and home-style cooking.

Crescent City

Breakfast w/ Santa & Lighthouse Holiday Boutique/Light Parade & Tree Lighting. Nov. 28. Lighthouse Community Center is hosting a Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Boutique until 2 p.m. Visit cclighthouse.com for more information. Tickets are required for the breakfast. Parade begins at 6 p.m. at 5th and H Streets, wends its way through downtown Crescent City and ends in Tsunami Plaza. The tree lighting follows the parade. Call 707-465-3877 for more information.
