What: Ashley Furniture Home Store E-Waste and Recycle Day
When: June 20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Ashley Furniture Home Store parking lot
A free electronic waste recycle day will be held Saturday, June 20, in the parking lot of the Ashley Furniture Home Store at Target Center.
This event is sponsored by Restoration Enterprises and Boy Scouts of America Venturing Crew 608.
Accepted: televisions, radios, stereos, computers, laptops, monitors, cell phones, etc., without regard to working condition. No fluorescent bulbs or appliances.
Crew members will unload the e-waste via drive-through lanes and give tax deduction forms when appropriate.
Computers will be refurbished by skilled volunteer technicians from Restoration Enterprises, a 501 C (3) charitable corporation. All hard drives of refurbished computers are wiped clean in accordance with Department of Defense standards. Licensed software programs are added and the computers are offered to qualifying students and low-income families for donations from $40 to $80.
The remaining electronic waste will be safely recycled according to guidelines set by the State of California.
